Lug-All manufactures web strap and cable hoists for a wide variety of industries ranging from linemen and electrical work to residential. Our hoists cross so many industries that we’ve developed a total of 13 cable winch hoists and 11 web strap winch hoists to meet the needs of practically every application. Web strap hoists are specifically designed for electrical and linemen work. The dielectric properties of the nylon web strap, along with hot stick rings, can help keep linemen safe as they perform their job. Our cable hoists, however, are used in a myriad of applications, from construction and renovation, to pump and motor installation, marine applications, fence tensioning, rigging, tree services, and practically any other exacting task you can think of.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with winch hoists, our hoist options can seem quite daunting. But, it’s not as difficult as it looks. Lug-All Cable Come Along Ratchet Winch Hoists come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but our most popular industrial hoists for residential use are the ½-ton cable hoist and the 2-ton cable hoist. So, which one is best for your application?

½-Ton Cable Hoist

The 1000-15 Cable Hoist is designed to lift and/or pull up to ½ ton, with 15 feet of cable. This is a perfect entry-level hoist for residential applications, but it’s also a great option for some industrial applications, too. The hoist boasts an aluminum alloy main frame with open construction for easy cleaning and maintenance. It’s often used for lighter-duty applications, but as specified above, it can lift ½ ton in capacity. It’s a tough piece of equipment used for fence tensioning, tree stump removal, tying down tree branches, lifting rocks, boat maintenance, and any other around-the-house application imaginable.

2-Ton Cable Hoist

This hoist is similar to the ½-ton cable hoist; however, it’s designed to lift and/or pull up to 1 ton on single line lift, with 20 feet of cable. It’s also designed with an aluminum alloy main frame with open construction. With a higher capacity and longer cable, the 4000-20 is a great option for residential applications, but it’s most often used for heavy-duty projects like tree removal, pulling tractors and off-road vehicles from the mud, HVAC installation and maintenance, removing and pulling car engines, and even removing piers and boats from the water. The 2-ton hoist also features double-rigging capabilities, meaning it includes an additional hook that allows users to double rig the cable, thereby decreasing its length to 10 feet and increasing its capacity to a full 2 tons. This heavy-duty hoist can be used for industrial purposes or in endless residential and site-to-site applications.

If you’re looking for an industrial hoist for non-commercial applications, one of these two hoists will get the job done. But, as always, it’s important to consider the needs of your application—including cable length, capacity, double rigging, and rapid lowering—before deciding which hoist is best for you.
